Steven Holleran

I'm a writer-director and cinematographer. My work has premiered at Sundance, played in theaters for Sony and MGM, and aired for Netflix, Apple, Max, and YouTube Originals.

I got started with a camera at 21 with a solo documentary in a Samoan village on the edge of the South Pacific. That project taught me the same lesson every subsequent one has: living is made outside your comfort zones.

Art Uncharted is the uncomfortable series I always wanted to make, an expedition-scale essay channel that treats art as mankind's greatest technology and the thing that makes life worth living. We blow things up, travel to remote places, ask the biggest questions about art and perception, and cut together cinematic pieces you can watch in under half an hour.

My goal is simple: jailbreak the idea of ART out of the museum.
